Govt mulls ad relief for free channels

New Delhi, Sept. 11: The government is thinking of exempting free-to-air (FTA) television channels from a regulation that limits advertisements to a maximum of 12 minutes per hour.

Officials said the information and broadcasting ministry was "mulling" the relaxation because these channels are wholly dependent on advertisements.
