To bridge the divide between the rulers and the ruled

Newspapers on Friday were special for three artists — Maharashtra-based Gajanan Ghongde, Delhi-based Sajal Karmakar and Raghavendra Pratap Singh. Each of them got to flaunt their skills in creative designing on a canvas and a range that only an advertisement released by the Directorate of Advertising & Visual Publicity (DAVP) can provide.

The three advertisements — with the BJP campaign slogan Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas — issued by the Information and Broadcasting Ministry to mark Independence Day were made by these three individuals who participated in the Ministry's endeavour to "crowd-source" advertisements for the day.
